Study of Patterns in Financial Flows within Market System

Client: DAI for USAID Agricultural Value Chains (AVC) project

Period: April 2016 – June 2016

The Agricultural Value Chains project (AVC) contracted Consiglieri to conduct a study on the financial flows in the agricultural sector of AVC’s portfolio of farmers in the Southern Delta. This study aimed to analyze and understand the farmer communities’ behavior patterns like saving, borrowings, consumption, Investment pattern etc. It also assessed and developed a farmer segmentation analysis based on commercialization, land size, commercial relationship/investment patterns etc. In addition to these, envisioned outcome of the study was also to know about the patterns of financial flows between commercial actors involved in the agriculture sector of the Southern Delta.
