A Study to Measure Willingness to Pay for FSM Services

For SNV Bangladesh, Consiglieri measured users’ Willingness to Pay (WTP) for safe emptying services, determine optimum tariff structures and desired roles/responsibilities of service providers in sustaining, operating and maintaining emptying services. SNV is implementing the project titled ‘Demonstration of pro-poor market-based solutions for faecal sludge management in urban centres of Southern Bangladesh’ under the leadership of local authorities in Khulna City Corporation, Kushtia and Jhenaidah Paurashavas together with KWASA, KUET, URP discipline of Khulna University and WaterAid Bangladesh. This was qualitative research with Choice-based Conjoint Analysis (CBC), and SaniFOAM approach.
