Market Governance Study and Gender Study for PROOFS project

Client: iDE Bangladesh for Embassy of Kingdom of Netherlands

Period: January 2016 - March 2016

The objectives of the assignment were to understand the incentives of market actors who operate within PROOFS project areas; identify the various factors that influence the relationships between actors; and identify the key obstacles and opportunities to achieving relationships in which the incentives of actors align with the interests of the poor. As good governance is dependent upon gender equity, an emphasis was placed on examining the project gains for women focusing on their experience to access markets, their level of engagement within market systems and factors that pose an obstacle to women’s involvement.
