Farid Hasan Ahmed has been working in the development sector for about 35 years both in country and abroad. These years gave him the opportunity to work in South-East Asian region, on Disaster Risk Management DRR, Emergency response, Climate Change Adaptation CCA, Livelihood Augmentation, also issues related with Capacity Building of organizations and professionals. During this period he has experienced and enjoyed diversified cultural working environment as the Senior Manager/Advisor of the big names like, Switzerland Embassy, Oxfam GB (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and Myanmar), Concern World Wide Bangladesh, Sea Defence Consultant (Aceh and Nias , Indonesia) etc. He also conducted and commissioned studies, researches and trainings on different issues in various countries. He has participated and facilitated a lot of trainings and workshops in Bangladesh and overseas. Farid Hasan Ahmed is a Lawyer. He is active in advocacy and lobbying with different actors. He completed his education (Master of Development Studies MDS, MA, LLB, Diploma on Development Planning, and Diploma on DRR/CCA) mainly in Bangladesh and EPFL, Switzerland.
At present he is engaged as self-governing consultant, capacity constructor and development lawyer with various organizations, and columnist with different media.
