Abdullah Al Shakib

Shakib is the co-founder and the Director of Research of Consiglieri Private Limited. Over the last 12 years, Shakib has worked for major DFID, USAID, EKN, SDC, EU projects in Bangladesh on solving growth, employment, and inclusiveness challenges in agriculture, industries, water, sanitation, hygiene, health and nutrition sectors. His clients include Oxfam, BRAC, Care, Palladium International, ICCO Cooperation, Solidaridad Network, ActionAid, iDE, Winrock, Mott MacDonalds, Practical Action, CCDB, DAI, CCDB, TMLI-B, Nathan Associates, SNV, Lepra Bangladesh, etc. Shakib works for bi-lateral and multi-lateral aid agencies to design and evaluate projects working on business solutions to poverty. Shakib has been working extensively in research and design assignments targeting market analysis, value chain development, project/program evaluation, behavioral analysis, sectoral profiling, business model development, strategy and intervention design. In his research, Shakib frequently uses the DCED framework for assessing results and OECD-DAC criteria in evaluating different projects. Shakib also has experience in humanitarian response programs and worked with Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar region. Shakib also designed M&E frameworks and necessary monitoring tools and guidelines for more than ten development projects. He is also a trainer on research, M&E, Value Chain Development and DCED standard for results measurement. Shakib had his BSc. in Industrial and Production Engineering, and Masters in Development Studies. Shakib received professional training and certification on Climate Change Risk and Opportunity Assessment, Theory of Change (ToC) Modelling, and the DCED guided Results Measurement System.
