Project Description
Value Chain Analysis for Productive Employment Opportunities of Women and Vulnerable Groups in Bangladesh
The Promoting Gender Responsive Enterprise Development and TVET Systems (ProGRESS) project, a five-year-long project, is a joint initiative of the Government of Bangladesh and the International Labour Organization (ILO), funded by the Government of Canada. This project aims to support the promotion of employability of the female workforce of Bangladesh to improve their economic well-being and maximize their contribution to the national economic growth through policy reforms, TVET services, entrepreneurship promotion, and skills development with gender equality and green skills. Prior to implementation, the project wants to delve into the existing value chains of four selected sectors, i.e., Agriculture, Tourism, Care Work and ICT. Consiglieri has been hired to conduct a comprehensive value chain analysis of four selected sectors to understand all major constraints to end- market opportunities for expanding enterprises and generating green jobs for women and vulnerable groups. The assessment will suggest value chains with potential and possible intervention areas, skills needed and gap analysis, including occupation, trade and required competency, which should serve as a basis for the entry- point for the ProGRESS project.
